The only reason I’d run through an airport for is love
2023-05-17

Love is all we have. But what does love truly mean to me?

Perhaps it began in the oddest way. After arguing with my boyfriend, I still sent him a bunny sticker to show I care; I defend my family despite our constant bathroom battles; I call my friends silly names yet always strive to support them.

Love transcends mere words, which can be both potent and insubstantial. It’s found in the small moments that fill our lives.

I don’t claim to know everything about love, but you don’t need to say "I love you" to express it.

For me, love means recognizing something unique within myself and enjoying my own presence. It’s about embracing the quirky thoughts in my mind and doing the wildest things with me. Love involves listening to my overthinking at 3 am, chuckling at my corny jokes, and cooking for me. It’s about being by my side, supporting my endeavors, and simply valuing my existence.

Love isn’t just about having someone next to you. It’s the notion that a loved one plants in your heart, reminding you of your worth and the special qualities you possess. It’s the warmth that brightens your darkest nights, instilling hope for what lies ahead.

Even when the people and things we cherish fade from our lives, the emotions they inspired linger forever. They linger in a comforting way, becoming memories that keep their essence alive within us.

Running through an airport to catch the love of your life may seem romantic, but in truth, it can be exhausting and seemingly futile if you don’t find them. Yet, I would still sprint through an airport for love.
